Three Trojans named to PVCA AAA Fab 40 list

Congratulations to Chris Busack, Matt Sundahl and Duy Nguyen for being named to the 2009 PVCA AAA Fab 40 list. Other District XI players named to the AAA list were Emmaus' Andrew Pile, Freedom's Brian Wu and Sean Reese. Bethlehem Catholic's Mike Stianche was named to the AA list.
Trojans collect Morning Call awards

The 2009 Parkland boys volleyball was recognized by the Morning Call as the 2009 Team of the Year, as well as having the Co-Player of the Year and Coach of the Year. Congratulations to everyone in the Parkland volleyball program for earning these accolades. Everyone deserves the recognition for their hard work and dedication.
District XI Senior All-Star match a success

District XI's senior all-stars stepped back onto the court one more time, this time on the same side of the net as their former opponents. The 14 players put on a nice show for the crowd in a 5 set match, won by the white t-shirt team 4 sets to 1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22, 15-12). Trojans finished 3rd at PIAA state championship

Parkland fell to Penn Hills 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 24-26) to finish the season 3rd in the state. Penn Hills went on to lose in final to Central Dauphin 3-2 (15-13 in the 5th set). More details about the weekend to come soon.
Congratulations to Chris Busack and Duy Nguyen for being named to the PIAA Championships All-Tournament Team! Having two Trojans recognized on this very prestigious team is an incredible accomplishment, that was only made possible by their teammates, family and friends support throughout the year and this weekend.
Trojans advance to PIAA quarterfinal pool play

Parkland made very quick work of District 12 champion Central (Phila.) High School in the PIAA 1st round play-in match 25-12, 25-8, 25-10. The win moves Parkland to the PIAA quarterfinals at Penn State on Friday. Parkland will be in the same pool as Pennsbury, Hempfield and North Allegheny. The other AAA pool will be Freedom (winner over Pennridge 3-0), Central Dauphin, Greater Latrobe and Penn Hills. Parkland's play schedule is 10:50 vs North Allegheny, 1:50 vs Pennsbury and 4:50 against Hempfield. All pool play information, both AAA and AA is posted here.
