In a big EPC match-up between two of the top teams in the EPC, Parkland got all they could handle from a very aggressive and scrappy Nazareth team. In the end, Parkland escaped with a 3-2 (22-25, 32-30, 27-25, 12-25, 15-7) win to improve to 10-1 overall (9-1 EPC). Garrett Weigel lead the way with 18 kills while Michael Zeky chipped in 13 kills and 4 blocks for the Trojans.
Next up for the Trojans is another home match against Pocono Mountain West on Friday night. JV will begin at 5:30pm and Varsity will begin around 6:45pm.
In a key non-league match for the Trojans, Parkland battled District 1 powerhouse Pennridge and earned a 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-20) win to improve to 9-1 on the season. Leading the way for the Trojans were Garrett Weigel and Michael Zeky while Logan Iacobelli came up with a number of sprawling defensive plays helping the Trojans finish the match.
Next up for the Trojans is a big EPC match at Nazareth tomorrow night. JV is set to start at 5:30pm with Varsity to follow.
In a key EPC match-up, Parkland played host to Liberty on Monday night and earned the 3-0 (25-16, 25-11, 25-15) win to move to 8-1 on the season. The loss drops Liberty to 7-4 overall. Leading the way offensively was Garret Weigle with 11 kills and 1 blocks while fellow senior Aaron Kuhlman added 5 kills, 5 blocks and 1 ace. RJ Corba sparked a late match run with 3 kills. Michael Zeky added in 6 kills and 5 blocks as well.
Next up for the Trojans is a road match tomorrow night at Pennridge. JV is set to begin at 5:45pm with Varsity to follow.
In a battle of the unbeaten, Emmaus downed host Parkland 3-2 (25-20, 17-25, 25-17, 15-25, 15-8) to remain perfect on the year. Parkland falls to 7-1. Leading the way for Parkland was Garrett Weigel's 9 kills while Michael Zeky added 5 kills and 4 blocks. Coming off the bench to provide a much-needed spark were freshmen Ben and Logan Iacobelli.
Next up for the Trojans is the Koller Classic on Saturday where they will be in a pool with Chambersburg, Pennsbury (#8 AAA), Exeter and Central York (#4 AAA).
Freedom gave the Trojans some trouble on Thursday but Parkland was able to put everything together and take the match 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-21, 25-14) to improve to 7-0 on the year.
Ian Dashukewich came up huge for the Trojans with 10 blocks on the night to go along with 5 kills. Michael Zeky hammered home 12 kills while dishing out 13 assists and adding 5 blocks. Nick Mohr stepping in the OH position and added 7 kills.
Next up for the Trojans is a home match against arch-rival Emmaus on Tuesday night at Parkland. JV will begin at 5:30pm. That night will also be Parkland's Middle School Night.
