Emmaus boys volleyball sweeps Whitehall for EPC title

After cruising through the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference's regular season with an unblemished mark, the Emmaus boys volleyball team made one thing official Thursday night: it is back on top.

The Green Hornets swept Whitehall 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) at Easton Area Middle School to claim the EPC championship, their first league title since 2012.

Junior outside hitter James Haag led the way with 13 kills, five aces and two blocks while senior middle blocker Carson Landis added 11 kills. Junior setter Cameron Parsons ran the offense with 37 assists and senior libero Brendan Dunkle chipped in nine digs.

Emmaus will get back on the hardwood Thursday as it kicks off its quest for a District 11 title as the top seed in Class 3A. The Green Hornets will host the winner of a pigtail between Easton and Freedom.

No. 2 Whitehall will also host Thursday night, awaiting the winner of Northampton and Wyoming Valley West.
